MNDA West Sussex North Branch

A very warm welcome to the West Sussex North branch website, your local support branch for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Our sole aim is to serve people in our area affected by Motor Neurone Disease (MND). This includes people living with MND, their carers, family & friends. We are part of the national charity, The Motor Neurone Disease Association and aim to provide you with local and personal support.

A diagnosis of MND is a daunting prospect, but we are here to assist you at every step, should you want us to. MND is an incurable condition that paralyses the muscles, leaving people unable to do everyday things that the rest of us take for granted. Walking, talking and swallowing become virtually impossible. MND can also affect the areas of the brain involved in thinking, language, behaviour and personality. Doctors call this ‘cognitive change’

Areas we cover

The West Sussex North branch covers Sussex from Horsham, Crawley, East Grinstead, and Haywards Heath to Burgess Hill and the Surrey areas of Horley and Smallfield.

Our objectives are:

• To provide support for people affected by MND
• Raise money to help people affected by MND
• Raise awareness about MND
• Influence policy and decision-makers to the benefit of people affected by MND

The West Sussex North Branch is completely run by volunteers. We are always keen to hear from people who can help with our events or who would like to become involved with the branch.
